From cable trays to junction boxes, your work sets the foundation for everything electrical to come alive. If you're an ironworker who thrives on-site, understands construction drawings, and has a good eye for metalwork—this one’s for you.

 

Our client is a leader in electrical engineering projects across multiple sectors—think infrastructure, maritime, energy transition, utilities, and panel construction. No homes or apartments here—just high-impact, large-scale builds like bridges, factories, tunnels, and luxury yachts. Distribution centers are also part of their work area. Our clients does not handle electrical work in houses and apartments. Most of our projects are long-term (over 1 year), but they also have short-term projects (6 to 8 weeks). Their team of 150+ professionals handles both long-term and short-term projects throughout the Netherlands.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

 

You’ll work closely with E&I teams to make sure every piece of metal infrastructure is placed precisely. Whether you’re cutting and assembling metal structures, placing instrumentation components, or repairing existing installations, your craftsmanship will power major systems. As an ironworker you’ll usually work on projects on-site.

 

Here are some of the main responsibilities:

  • Construction work: Cutting, assembling, and repairing metal structures.
  • Placing and connecting components: This includes placement of junction boxes and cable trays and instrumentation components according to technical drawings.
  • Maintenance and repair: Performing maintenance and repair work on existing installations.

 

Your Skills:

  • Ironworks, making cable traces
  • Reading construction drawings
  • Junction box placement
  • Knowledge of Metal Types

 

Offer:

You will be paid on a weekly basis. Your salary is based on your experience. We can offer candidates a net salary starting from € 2700,- per month up to €3600,- per month based on a 40-hour workweek and your level of experience. In some cases, extra hours can be worked, and the salary will be higher. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee overtime. Health insurance and accommodation are included.

 Payment is based on the following components:

  • Cost of Living allowance
  • Travel expenses from home country to the Netherlands
  • Travel expenses up to 27 kilometers from accommodation to project per day*
  • Payment for extra-statutory holidays
  • Holiday pay
  • Health insurance
  • Deduction of housing

*Additional kilometers are reimbursed at €0.21 per kilometer, both for the driver and passengers.

Important: In addition to your salary, you also accrue vacation hours.

 

Rotations & Vacation Hours:

You will work in rotations. After working for 10 weeks, it is common to take 1 to 2 weeks of vacation. It is important to know that, in addition to your agreed net salary, you also accrue vacation hours each week. For example, if you work for 10 weeks, you will have accrued approximately 30 hours of vacation time. You can use these hours to take a vacation or rotation.

 

Accommodation:

Our client arranges accommodation for you. Currently, the average distance between the accommodation and the project site is 30 kilometers. The accommodation is shared with several people, but everyone always has their own bedroom.

In addition to your weekly net salary, you will also receive a travel allowance from your accommodation to the project and back. The first 27 km per day is already included in the net salary. All extra kilometers are reimbursed at a rate of € 0.21 per kilometer. The total weekly salary can therefore be increased by € 1.00 - € 50.00 extra per week.

 

Car Lease:

Our client will provide you with the option to lease a car: a Mitsubishi SpaceStar (2024), Seat MII (2021) or Hyundai 2025 . And for a reduced rate, you can drive to work every day without any worries! You will pay around €65.00 to €70.00 per week and this amount will be deducted from your salary weekly. Just let us know if you are interested and we’ll arrange for you to sign your lease agreement. And then you’ll receive your car keys and fuel or charging card.

 

Requirements for Car lease:

  1. You must have a valid driver’s license.
  2. You are required to take 1 to 3 passengers to the project.
  3. Travel costs from accommodation to the project will be canceled.

 

Pro tip!: Ask your colleagues to carpool with you for a small contribution. This way, you’ll drive even more affordably!

 

Health insurance:

Our client provides health insurance. If medical assistance is needed in the Netherlands, it is readily available.

 

BSN & Certifications:

If you want to work in the Netherlands, you need to have a BSN (Citizen Service Number), and you’ll require certain certifications. Our client will make an appointment with the municipality to obtain a BSN. For VCA or Sky platform (IPAF), an exam needs to be taken. Our client will provide study materials to help you prepare and will cover the cost of the first exam. It is very achievable to pass the exam if you are an experienced electrician and have studied. Any subsequent attempts will need to be paid for by the individual.
