Our client is a manufacturer of parts for the automotive sector, specifically specialised in transmission assemblies and components. A high-tech company that operates internationally and has a team of 200 engineers within their plant in Belgium. For the position of Simulation Engineer, you will play an important role in building and maintaining the engineering team's knowledge in the field of electric machines.

Your job

• You foresee the simulation in e.g. MotorCAD.
• You ensure a thorough understanding of the e-machine and strive to optimise the performance, thermal capacity, efficiency and cost of each electrified system. For this, you focus on the integration of the total system (e-machine, power electronics, transmission, battery, etc.).
• Benchmarking and constant learning on e-machine technology and market directions.
• Defining requirement specification of e-machines.
• Collaborating with suppliers to find optimal solutions.
• Providing simulations of e-machines in terms of performance, thermal aspects.
• Contribution to the development of advanced and model based control methods.
• Supporting the development phases through risk assessment, validation, issue resolution,...
• Support industrialization phase of the project with core knowledge on e-machines.

Your profile

For the position of Simulation Engineer for Electric Drives we are looking for someone with the following qualifications;

• You hold a master's degree in engineering;
• Experience with electric drives is a requirement
• You have a minimum of 5 years of experience within e-machines;
• You are a team player and eager to learn.
• You are fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch and/or German is an asset.
• You have an attitude towards creating something from the ground up. Detail oriented and structured.
